Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA) announced that they are recruiting companies to participate in the “Startup Overseas Expansion Support Program” to support promising startups in the province in their overseas expansion and attracting investment. Applications are open until the 26th of this month.
This program is a new initiative aimed at diagnosing the suitability of startup companies wishing to expand overseas with the target region and providing an opportunity to review their expansion strategies with experts.
Eligible companies are startups within seven years of establishment in Gyeonggi Province, and a total of 25 companies will be selected through document evaluation and presentation evaluation.
Selected companies will receive support programs such as target market analysis and business model localization consulting, enhancement of English-language investment presentation (IR) materials and pitching capabilities, and participation in demo days and investment consultations.
In particular, in the second half of the year, they will be supported to seek opportunities to leap into the global market through the “Korea Startup Forum 2024” held in New York, opportunities for IR participation with local investors in Asia, and networking programs with successful local entrepreneurs.
Even after the program, they plan to identify companies with investment intentions from domestic and foreign investors, arrange follow-up connections, and support subsequent investments through various programs.
Companies wishing to apply can check the announcement posted on the Gyeonggi Startup Platform and apply online by July 26th.
Bae Young-sang, Director of Venture Startups at Gyeonggi Province, said, “This program will be an important opportunity for promising startups in the province to expand their businesses on the global stage,” adding, “In the second half of the 8th term, we will especially strive to promote global expansion and attract investment for startups.”
